I am writing this post because we are moving in a direction which is inevitable.

Many things will be and already are being replaced with AI.

With all the changes in the world, not just with AI, but also regarding generally what comes in life... I'd say we all still have a choice. Adaptation is one thing, but I believe everyone has the raw choice to apply new things to their life.

Whether it brings you FOMO to see everyone around you improving because they integrated Claude into their business, or the opposite where you simply don't trust and/or despise AI in general, or the latter, where you just don't care at all... it doesn't matter.

What's happening is happening.

A blank page, before anything is written.

Sure, everyone has that one friend and/or family member that truly just isn't in the loop... yet. Which is a wild statement because everyone and their dog has used ChatGPT... or to go deeper, has probably read or watched something with AI-generated content. It's not a foreign concept anymore, is my point.

If you're reading this, chances are you have already dabbled with and are interested in AI, or you could be anywhere on the spectrum of users, of course. But one thing is for sure, I'm sure all of you can already see a heavy implementation of AI, if not a full-on replacement of the human workforce. What you read, watch, or generally just indulge in, it is integrated into heavily, and you have no choice but to interact.

So I made a choice to try and stay grounded. If one thing, it's to stick to a principle of keeping my writing straight from the heart. I've thought endlessly about how I can bring value with writing, filming, and just creating in general. I aim to stay as authentic as possible.

So when I write, with the purpose of reaching out into the world, I believe I shouldn't let that be tampered with, and it must stay raw and true to my voice. And I believe AI does affect my ability to follow that principle, at least with my writing. Because if I ask AI to write something, it wouldn't come from my voice. Sure, I can fine-tune outputs to make them come off more like me, but end to end, that strips me away from my true internal voice, to write something from the heart, and not have to worry about an em dash, or reading off as robotic.

The tools stay on the desk. The words stay mine.

Today, I notice the barrier between thought to action is slimmer than ever. Whatever I think I want, I can try to create, and it's that much easier because of AI. So I ponder within myself...

"Why don't you just automate all of this and play the numbers game? This amount of posts that amount of times would equal this amount, etc."

Yes, I agree AI is an extension of the person using it, and I love using it for everything I possibly can, because it's super fun, but that is also exactly why I choose to maintain a fully human approach to whatever I write. AI already does so much for me… I want to stick to a principle of keeping my writing siloed, and from the heart. I prefer to write everything from scratch.

I use AI in my daily life in various aspects, yes, but sometimes I let things go further out of my scope, which isn't always bad, but generally hollows out what I've grasped within my research and application throughout my tinkering. When my philosophy is to stay grounded... and when I aim for my writing to be true to what I think and who I am, I choose to maintain a fully human approach to whatever I write. For me, this keeps things grounded.

So yes, while I've made the choice to integrate AI into my life, I have the choice to do so in whatever magnitude I see fit, choosing to vouch that I will never AI-generate a post intended to come from me, from scratch.
